AXD-LNS

The Axitude AXD-LNS is an high performance Navigation system intended for a wide range of applications, such as advanced navigation displays and advanced Navigation Control Systems in Armored Vehicle programs.
Due to its High Stability MEMS sensor based architecture, the AXD-LNS equipment can be also easily configured for platform stabilization applications.
The Axitude AXD-LNS communicates with the host platform through four separate interfaces, that are implemented on three separate military grade connectors. In order to provide its features, the system needs some external inputs either from a GPS receiver and a linear velocity sensor.
Three digital serial interfaces RS232 allow the system to interface with a broad range of vehicle systems (Navigation control system, diagnostic monitoring system and external GPS receivers).
The J1939 – type CAN BUS interface allows the system to receive external velocity aiding.

AXD-LNS uses its attitude sensor based on MEMS technology for combining linear accelerometers and rotational rate sensors to elaborate the inertial measurements. The system then integrates its data with velocity measurements and external GPS data to basically implement an augmented GPS Navigation with advanced dead reckoning capabilities. In case of loss of GPS signal, the system exploits the velocity aiding in order to provide a continuous navigation solution.

The AXD-LNS product has been designed by Axitude specifically for the defense market. As a result, the AXD-LNS system and all of its components have been designed to comply with the demands of the high standards of safety and reliability used in this field, including an extensive built in test (BIT) capability. Furthermore, the system provides an accurate Navigation reference in dynamic environments that include altitude, temperature, shock and vibration ranges according to the related MIL-STD standards.

Each inertial system comes with both an Installation and User’s Manuals offering helpful hints on installation and product information. In addition, Axitude provides a comprehensive suite of software to assist you in installation, system evaluation and allows you to perform data acquisition. In case of changes in application requirements, some software modules can be upgraded directly in the field without removal of the AXD-LNS unit.
